Explore the principles of Ashtanga Yoga, a series of flowing, interconnected poses linked by your in- and exhale. This dynamic and challenging form of yoga is renowned for its ability to detoxify and strengthen. On-going practice of ashtanga yoga can result in a strong, toned and flexible body as well as a calm and alert mind. 

During the class we practice the standing postures of the Primary Series as well as many of the seated postures, working together to connect to our breath, our core strength and our spirit. This is a fun and dynamic course, so be prepared for a new you! 

Suitable for: 
- students who have completed a yoga beginners course or
- students who have regularly practiced other styles of yoga for at least 2 months

- students who have sone yoga in the past and are keen to resume resume their practice
- those looking for a fun and exciting challenge

Dynamic yoga classes are set to beautiful music. This fun, flowing class builds heat, strength and flexibility thereby helping the body to detoxify and tone muscles. The flowing aspect of this class can also enable the mind to become calm and still. 

If you are looking for a new, fun and exhilarating challenge, this could be the class for you. Just drop-in and give it a go.

Beginner's Ashtanga

At FHS

Currently beginners are invited to join the general level class outlined above.  

Tuesdays: 7.30pm

 

Though beginner’s courses are offered once a year (see below), beginner’s are generally invited to join the mixed level ability class at 7.30pm on Tuesday evenings (see above). The class is fun and flowing and students inviting and supportive of new yoga practitioner. You can find out more about the theme of the Tuesday 7.30pm classes in the newsletter. Pregnancy Yoga

At Chapel on the Hill

July 6th and 13th (no class the rest of July or August)

Saturdays: 9.15am

 

Classes are booked on a drop-in basis and are held at the Chapel on the Hill in SE23. 

Pregnancy Yoga will focus on relaxation, birthing positions, breathing techniques, connecting with your unborn baby and building your strength and confidence for the magical journey of birth and motherhood. Classes are also a great opportunity to meet other local mums-to-be!

Pregnancy Yoga is suitable for: 
- women who are between 14 and 40 weeks pregnant
- those looking to connect with their breath
- those looking to meet other local mums-to-be
- those wishing to keep their body strong and subtle for the different pregnancy stages
- those wanting to support optimal fetal positioning for birth
- those who want to strengthen their pelvic floor
